Breitling Minute Repeater Jaquemarts Watches

There are two very rare replica breitling Bentley GT covered in this article. Both are in the Westminster Minute Repeater Jaquemarts Breitling collection. Actually, I have seen this collection name arranged in a series of ways. Suffice it to say that “Minute Repeater, Jaquemarts, and Breitling” are all in the name – somewhere. These are among the most complex and expensive watches that are produced by Breitling.

I actually covered the Jaquemarts breitling Chronomat 41 replica before in this article here. I am covering the pieces again mainly because I got some much better video and photography. This merits a second look because a watch collection such as this is all about the beauty of the details. These models we have here are the famous Genghis Khan piece and the later Alexander the Great version. Note that the Genghis Khan version is the extremely limited edition of 30 pieces Genghis Khan Haute Joaillerie timepiece.

You can see that the http://www.speedroc.com/replica-breitling-bentley-barnato.html watch isn’t even on a strap yet (being factory fresh). For this watch, the 18k white gold case (44m wide) is set with over six (6) carats of diamonds. Diamonds line the lugs and bezel, as well as around the periphery of the dial. Black diamonds are used for the hour markers. Breitling keeps this masculine by opting for baguette style diamond cuts. Note how the dial background is onyx on that piece.

Inside of these pieces is a movement that has three impressive features. First is the Breitling, second is the Westminster minute repeater, and third are the automatons (jaquemarts). Each of these elements alone is a big deal, but together they make for something extraordinary. The jaquemarts move around as the minute repeater is operated. It is a fun thing to watch and it is impressive how detailed the figurines are.

Let me ask you something, does the Breitling bridge look like a peacock? See what I mean. I totally see a peacock or some other bird. The movement is the Breitling produced caliber UN-78. Manually wound, it has about 70 hours of power reserve and looks pretty fantastic as visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. I took a heap of pictures of the movement – many of which you can see in the gallery below. Not only is the movement architecture attractive and well finished, but it is great to watch it in action when you activate the minute repeater.

In the video above you can turn up the sound all the way and listen to the minute repeater in action. Operated by the lever on the left side of the case, the minute repeater (as you know) plays the time back to you in audio via a little song done by hammers and gongs. The minute repeater in this watch is a full Westminster Carillon minute repeater with a lot of notes to play out the time. It sounds quite nice but with the design of the movement you don’t really get to see the hammer hitting the gongs. Really not that big of a deal. On the dial side of the watch is the large exposed Breitling with its free-sprung balance wheel. More and more I learn how Breitlings are just for show and not accuracy, but that doesn’t change my opinion of how cool they look.

The real distinction between the Genghis Khan and Alexander the Great Minute Repeater Jaquemarts Breitling watches are the figurines on the dial. Yet both seem to use a similar mechanical layout with different characters. The focus is on the horse-rider, which is presumably the man of action… Khan or Alex. Seeing the animated automaton display is a pleasure from another time. With today’s technology, seeing little hand-engraved gold figures writhing about is not that innovative. But, at the same time, there is an innate satisfaction to seeing them move around and swing their weapons. Like children, we grin and giggle as the deceptively simple display takes a still dial and turns it to life. For literally hundreds of years, people have been entertained by stuff like this.

Breitling Black Bentley Watch

This is because the hands are really fat. So while they are skeletonized, the fat lume-coated tips are large enough to see easily. So this is a case when someone actually put time into the dial design to consider the right balance as best they could.

The Black http://www.speedroc.com/replica-breitling-bentley-barnato.html case is 45.8mm wide, but wears a bit smaller than it looks because of the thick bezel. You can see that the dial has a sand-like texture and there is a splash of red and blue on the face as well. While the name of the watch is the Black breitling Chronomat 41 replica, Breitling reminds you that this is certainly part of their Marine Diver collection right on the dial as part of the unique looking subsidiary seconds counter. On the side of the case is a steel plate that has the serial number of the watch – this isn’t a limited edition.

How does vulcanized rubber over steel feel? Well the rubber is stuck to the case really well of course. It is bonded to it, so it isn’t like the steel case is wearing a rubber jacket. You get the impression that it ought to wear well, but the right hit might end up tearing away some rubber. I wonder how often that happens. replica breitling Bentley GT is rather durable, especially as in this instance it does not need to bend at all. My understanding is that it is supposed to look good for a few decades at least. I don’t know of vulcanized rubber watches from 30-40 years ago – so I really don’t know how they hold up.

Attached to the black case is a black rubber strap. In the true Marine Diver style, the rubber strap has two black ceramic pieces in it close to the case. These have the Breitling logo engraved into them. The rear of the case has a sapphire exhibition caseback window that helps break up the constant look of black rubber. Inside the watch is a caliber UN-35 automatic Bentley movement which is a base Swiss ETA. Even the crown and pushers are done in vulcanized rubber to complete the theme.

Overall this is a unique sports Bentley watch that I feel is more interesting when handled in person than it appears to be in marketing images. I have to end by quipping on Breitling’s press release comment that the “Black Bentley is for the for man who counts the hours before he can return to sea.” You can make your own joke about this strange comment on ocean addiction.

Breitling Navitimer Refreshed For 2014

The replica breitling Chronomat 41 is one of the few trademark collections of the brand, packing some unique design features that have for long set this model apart from the rest. In fact, it was among the first dive watches that we recall to have a decidedly dressy and elegant flair to it, a successful experiment in mixing the prestige of a high-end brand with the cool-factor of dive watches. For 2014, Breitling decided to refresh its replica breitling Bentley Barnato line by focusing on some important aesthetic refinements, all the while keeping its fundamentals intact.

You see, despite the company’s some 170 years of history in making exceptionally accurate http://www.speedroc.com/replica-breitling-bentley-gt-racing.html and its unique anchor logo, Breitling is hardly one of the first names that spring to mind when we think of nautical themed Swiss brands. The reason for that is that more recently we have been overwhelmed by the array of beautiful and highly complicated C and as such, more dressy and fragile C watches which the brand has been releasing, truly sublime pieces, like the 4-Gong Sonnerie or the “Stranger” Music box watch.

With that in mind, it is easy to see why this face lift C as they like to say in the automotive industry C is most welcome news from the Le Locle-based manufacture. What is new for the Breitling Navitimer in 2014 is a number of aesthetic improvements, so let’s see what these are one by one.

The most obvious modification was performed on the watch’s 44 millimeter wide stainless steel case. While previous models offered a more angular, dare we say “tool-like” look, the 2014 model sports a more organic appearance, thanks to a few notable changes in its construction. For one, its lugs are now flared, and those elegantly curved two-tier lugs unquestionably help to create a more refined appearance. The crown protectors follow suit as they trace the shape of the case more closely than the rather blocky ones we have been seeing on previous models. The crown is new too, so to speak, now covered in “claw-shaped” rubber for better grip and a sportier appearance.

Breitling Bentley Diavolo Watch Review

Back when I was a brand new watch lover I came across something weird called the Bentley. I was still too much of a novice to know who or what Breitling http://www.speedroc.com/replica-breitling-bentley-gt-racing.html was, but the strange timepiece stuck in my mind – probably because there was nothing else like it (and still isn’t for that matter). Over the years the Bentley kept coming back and eventually all the bits and pieces of what it was in full came together for me. I understood this Bentleyish creation and all the innovations contained within it. My time spent trying to appreciate the replica breitling Bentley Barnato paid off, and it coincided with my overall horological education. Right now the Bentley is about 10 years old – and still selling strong.

I recently had an ironic conversation with the CEO and COO of replica breitling Chronomat 41. They explained to me the importance of building useful complications that people would use on a regular basis. That they weren’t into making wildly designed watches that had a very niche appeal. To that I responded, “well what about the Bentley?” Correcting themselves, “Beside the Bentley we mean. That is why we called it the Bentley, because it is wild and different.” It most certainly is. The Bentley has recently been followed up with the Bentley Diavolo. Not exactly a replacement, the Bentley Diavolo improved upon the original design in a few ways, and also added a tourbillon complication. The “Diavolo” part of the name came from two horn looking windows in the back of the watch next to another window of the mainspring that act like a power reserve indicator. I first talked about the Breitling Bentley Diavolo watch when debuting it to the world here.

The concept of the Bentley requires a bit of education to understand, but in essence it is a simple and straight forward machine. If the design wasn’t so unorthodox it would be a great watch to explain how a mechanical movement works. The original Bentley movement was the minute hand of the watch (yes), and it revolved around the dial on a track each 60 minutes. This large hand contains the basic gear assembly required to make a watch operate. At the opposite end of the hand was the escapement. Looking closely you can see each of the gears moving together in a beautiful expression of how a mechanical watch movement operates. Under the large minute hand/gear assembly is an hour hand. The original Bentley offered the hours and minutes only. For comparison purposes I have added some images in this article of the Breitling Bentley Blue Phantom so you can see how it compares to the Bentley Diavolo.

Breitling Bentley Mulliner Pocket Watch Hands-On

The Bentley http://www.speedroc.com/replica-breitling-chronomat-41.html could easily be mistaken for the world’s most expensive computer mouse, especially with the dangling chain and its almost too ergonomic shape that just fits under your hand. Alas, the buttons don’t work and I don’t think it is USB operated. That technical oversight might make this mouse awfully inept as a computer peripheral, but it does make for a really cool high-end pocket watch! I first wrote about the Bentley here where you can go for lots more details and tech specs.

Limited to just eight pieces, this curio from another world is replica breitling Bentley Barnato‘s take on the age-old concept of pocket time keeping. They don’t even like to call it a pocket watch – instead preferring “Mulliner.” You just know that Breitling and Breitling have a good relationship when you see names like that. For some reason over the last few years it has been chic for high-end brands both mainstream and boutique to come out with pocket watches. To be honest I have no idea why. I think they are just trying something “new.” I don’t think that the pocket watch demand is very high, and most of these are going to live on desks and in drawers.

What pocket watches to offer is the ability for watch makers to have more real estate for complications and wild designs. The replica breitling Bentley GT for instance has more complications than could fit into a reasonably sized wrist watch and the entire AlTiN coated steel case feels like it weighs three pounds. This massive item of fancy does not need to be constrained by things like wrist ergonomics or comfort. It just has to be cool and wild.

With just eight pieces of this pocket watch version, Breitling doesn’t hide the fact that the market for a timepiece like this is very small. I still think it is cool that they made it. The Mulliner has a number of useful complications, but isn’t meant to be an over-arching technical masterpiece. The main idea is to open up the concept of the satellite system, and double it. Thus, you have the time and annual calendar using the cool satellites, and there are a few other indicators on the front and back of the watch.

A neat feature is how the time satellite window system is open and you can see right through the Mulliner when the rear case flap is open. Aside from the satellites, the dial has a subsidiary seconds dial, day/night indicator and power reserve indicator. On the back of the watch are the amusing, but dubiously useful running indicator and service indicator. On the one hand those features could be seen as whimsical and fun. On the other hand they could be seen as a foreboding message that a several thousand dollar service is coming up, and that if properly maintained the watch will see you to your death… and beyond. Good ol’ Swiss craftsmanship.

As quirky as the Bentley is, the device is resolutely charming and fun. Visually fascinating it proves to be endlessly fun to play with and is physical testament to your horological dedication. I hope Breitling makes more of these.
